me and my friend were all excited because we were first in line by one of the doors (there's lots of different doors that they open at the same time) and thought we were definitely, going to be front and center holding onto the bar when we got in. of course 10 minutes before all the doors opened a lady comes out and tells me (and quite a few people who'd been lining up behind us) that these doors weren't going to be opened. fuck you lady. luckily we'd made friends with some of the people that had moved to another line earlier on (SMART people unlike me) and they said that we could stand with them so we didn't have to go to the back of the line. which would have blowed. alot. so when we got down to the floor, the center of the barricade already had people standing there so we grabbed any part of the bar we could, which was pretty much at the very faaaar side. so we were still very much front, just not very center. unfortunately the side is where the massive speakers are.
So the lessons I have learned from this concert are:
#1 make sure you are standing at the right door
#2 get there so early that you are the first one there and therefore will be impossible that you stand at the wrong door.
#3 getting to know the people beside you is very important. someone almost always ends up helping you out.
#4 avoid giant speakers.
#5 avoid the annoying as hell giggly-all-over-each-other couple that stand behind and beside you the entire concert kissing touching and just generally being annoying as fuck.
that last one was pretty random. but honestly how about you actually watch the fricken bands instead of groping eachother?
anyway I'm not funny so I'll shut up. overall the concert was really good, I was blown away by franz ferdinand I wasn't a huge crazy fan before I went but they were just so amazing live, one of the best I've ever seen. I don't know if they're always like that or if it was just because it was the last night of the tour, but they were ridiculously good. they really know how to put on a show and get the crowd excited. death cab were great too but they were a lot ..louder?...than I expected them to be. I was expecting more acoustic type stuff but it was all really loud guitar. or maybe that was just because of the speakers. oh well they were still great even if they didn't play I will follow you into the dark or lack of colour.
the opening band the Cribs were super good too, I usually hate opening bands but I liked them a lot. one of their songs is on a cellphone commercial here. lol. its catchy
so here's some not so good pics...

(cribs)

(couldn't help but take an ass shot, my camera was being annoying though. I got a new one so I'm not really used to the settings and everything yet)
Death cab were impossible to get a good pic of considering they were moving in extremely quick movements, especially ben. pretty much all my pics looked like this:

their set was cool though:

here's the security gards cause I felt like it lol

franzzzz

aaaaaaaaand the best picture of the night:

the speakers WERE good for one thing. alex standed on them for that rather amazing picture :D At that point I wanted to marry the speakers for enabling this to happen.
the rest of my pics are pretty much crap, I used up a lot of my memory card with videos. oops.
Also, I stole this from
hope she doesn't mind.
1. Open your music player.
2. Go to "all music."
3. Hit shuffle.
4. Find photos of the first 10 artists/bands that come up.
5. Have people guess who the artists/bands are
